Gulargambone is a small rural community, which was first declared a village in around 1883. Gulargambone is situated on the Castlereagh River, 48km South of Coonamble. Gulargambone has a population of 500 with approximately 1000 in the postcode.
It is a farming area, mainly wheat, beef and sheep. The town has the only community owned post office in Australia. It also has a Bowling Club, Tennis Club, Self-Service Petrol Station, the Gulargambone Central School, a Hotel/Motel, a Café and Takeaway (great hamburgers here), Foodstore, Caravan Park, Barking Owl B and B, Wilber Farmstay, Hospital, Police Station, Showground and Racecourse.
The nearby Warrambungle Mountains National Park offers bushwalking, camping and stargazing at the Siding Springs Observatory. Gulargambone is in the flight path of several migratory birds and the National Park boasts a population of one-third of all the parrot species in Australia.
Approximately 2 hours north of Dubbo or an hour from Gilgandra, this is a farming area controlled by Coonamble Council. Sealed roads in Gulargambone & to Gular Rail (where this block is), Warrie Rd is a short dirt road. There are about 8 houses in the area with residents, some of the other vacant blocks may have vans or water tanks.
